Purpose:

This workshop is in response to a motion that was carried at the Council Meeting Tuesday 25 November 2025. The motion included the request for Administration to schedule a School Travel Safety Implementation Plan workshop at a future Infrastructure and Public Works Committee meeting to be held in the first quarter of 2026.

Decision:

Undertaking – Priority 1 Funding for Individual Schools

In response to the meeting in relation to discussion on the Priority 1 School Zones (slide 14 of presentation), an undertaking was given to provide Council Members with a break down of funding costs for individual schools.

 

Undertaking – Financial year funding allocations for Priority 2

In response to the meeting, an undertaking was given to advise Council Members the outcome of considering whether, with construction slated to happen in 27/28 & 28/29, the costs should be allocated (less design costs) for those financial years rather than 26/27.

 

Undertaking – Budget allocations – Kiss and drop zones

In response to the meeting, an undertaking was given to provide Council Members with details of budget allocations for kiss and drop zones and related signage.
